LES Strategic Plan 2022-2030

Goal 5:

Articulate and strengthen our value proposition as a small school.

• Effectively illustrate and communicate the academic practices available to smaller schools as compared to the broader school marketplace.

• Strengthen the “on-boarding” process with greater individualized attention to immediately foster a sense of community with new families.

• Promote the important explicit and implicit advantages to children who attend a K-6 school.

• Highlight the benefits and flexibility inherent to a student-centered learning institution.

Goal 7:

Provide a learning space and campus to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and families.

• Probe what an ideal LES campus would look like?

• Ensure adequate spaces for learning, community gathering, play, extracurricular activities, and administrative operations.

• Determine the financial resources needed to make the most effective changes to the campus.

Goal 8:

Ensure that the school has adequate reserves to withstand economic downturns and unforeseen circumstances that may impact enrollment and school operations.

• Determine optimal enrollment size for the school to balance programmatic needs with the unique financial obligations of our small school.

• Build a facility reserve to guarantee that the resources are available to maintain and enhance our aging infrastructure.

• Grow the Board Designated Endowment as a resource to sustain school programs, finances, and physical resources.

• Invest reserve funds to responsibly maximize investment income.

• Develop additional resources to invest in our robust Tuition Assistance Program.
