CHRIS HOLABIRD (February 19, 1927 \u2013 June 16, 2023)<\/p>\n
Christopher \u201cChris\u201d Holabird founded Los Encinos School in 1980 with a vision for a school culture and philosophy that stands today.<\/p>\n
For Chris, a life was full if it had curiosity, a love for learning, and kindness. He was passionate about the belief that every child \u2013 no matter their socioeconomic status \u2013 must have the opportunity for a great education, an education that could see and nurture the individual child while growing in a community of support. He strongly advocated for students and families in need to receive financial assistance in order to attend Los Encinos School comfortably. He did this by building a community of parents, grandparents, family members, and friends who also believed that we are citizens of the world, of a community.<\/p>\n

The Chris Holabird Tuition Assistance Fund launched at our 40th anniversary gala (delayed by Covid until 2022) where the school community, past and present, gathered to honor Chris for his commitment to children and education.\u00a0 The fund now honors Chris\u2019s legacy by supporting students and their families who seek the education Chris dreamt into existence when he founded Los Encinos School.<\/p>\n
We thank the donors over the past three years who have made it possible for Los Encinos School to bring Chris\u2019s vision to life.\u00a0 The list below represents donations to the fund between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.\u00a0 Donations made since June 30, will be recognized in the 2023-2024 Annual Report.<\/p>\n
