Leadership Through Service: 5th Grade

Fifth-grade students partnered with Para Los Niños, a school in downtown Los Angeles dedicated through education and services to helping the city’s most vulnerable children and families. Our students fostered a buddy relationship with their kindergarten students by creating literacy centers and reading them the books we brought. Our fifth graders collected gently used books for the visit, and the children at Para Los Niños were overjoyed to learn they could keep the books for themselves and their school library! In the spring, Los Encinos funded their kindergarten class to meet us at a nearby park, where our fifth graders created outdoor games and art centers for their buddies.
