After Glow

In the spring of 2024, more than 200 attendees convened to honor Los Encinos School on campus for the annual gala, and the atmosphere was positively glowing for the event, titled, “Neon Nights: Brighter Together.” The enthusiasm was evident as the revelers showcased their brightly-colored interpretations of the evening’s dress code. The décor team, under the leadership of Anna (Kayla ’27 & Levi ’29) played a crucial role in transforming our vision into a vibrant neon spectacle.

The fundraising initiatives commenced several weeks prior to the event, featuring the highly anticipated Teacher Experiences Raffles. We extend our gratitude to the Raffle Committee Chair, Zsofia (Maya ’27), for her organizational efforts, as well as to the dedicated group of parents who sold tickets. Within a few weeks, the raffle generated $13,760, providing a robust foundation for our fundraising campaign.

Our Auction Chairs, Anna (Hudson ’27) and Missy (Everett ’27 & Frankie ’29), managed a silent auction that consistently surpassed previous records and expectations. We appreciate the entire auction team and all those who contributed generous donations, ranging from gift cards to invaluable experiences, enabling us to raise $100,731 solely from auction items.

As guests savored a delightful roaming dinner, they were entertained by an engaging video and a spirited auction that set the tone for the vibrant evening on campus. By the conclusion of dinner, our remarkable community had collectively raised an additional $197,580 in support of LES.

The after-party featured the popular MirMir photo booths, with special thanks to Ryan (Iris ’24) for his generous donation. To enhance the festivities, we also included the Fry Day Truck and NITROPOD, which offered custom liquid nitrogen ice cream.

Throughout the evening, the generosity of our community was prominently displayed, with contributions coming not only from current parents, faculty, and friends, but also from grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, and even prospective parents whose children had yet to begin their journey at the school.

As the last notes from the DJ echoed through the school, we had successfully raised over $310,000—an extraordinary achievement for a school of our size. Serving as the chair for this event for the second time, I was deeply impressed by the way the community united to transform the school into a vibrant Neon-themed celebration. This atmosphere provided an excellent opportunity for both current and prospective parents to connect and socialize in a familiar setting, illuminated in a fresh and exciting way. Together, we truly shone brighter!
