LES Strategic Plan 2022-2030
Goal 1:
Deepen and cultivate cross-grade level programs and projects that focus on integrative practice surrounding the school-wide theme and other key values (social studies, DEIJB, SEL, community outreach, eco-literacy, etc.)
• Cultivate curated materials to support this endeavor.
• Continued teacher development with cutting edge research and practices.
• Provide opportunities and guidance for teacher collaboration between grade levels.
• Assess annually the effectiveness of the programs/projects based on teacher feedback and student input. Tailor programs/projects accordingly.
• Encourage students to suggest interactive projects that would appeal to all ages.
Goal 2:
Maintain sustainable community engagement partnerships that connect students with the greater community in age-appropriate ways while strengthening the school’s indispensable belonging within the surrounding community.
• Define and develop a mentorship program that connects 5th and 6th grade students to community members and organizations to support and enhance skills that align with their interests and passions.
• Explore projects with new partners that are mission-aligned and would increase the awareness of Los Encinos School and benefit both the community and the school.
• Communicate a student’s participation in the community service projects to their parents that clearly tracks progress and impact over their seven-year enrollment at LES.
• Support students to take the initiative in finding and sustaining a connection with an organization that is meaningful to them in order to deepen the relevance and understanding of community engagement.
Goal 3:
Strengthen our applicant pool in the independent school marketplace and reinforce our position as a top choice for parents considering schools in the San Fernando Valley.
• Emphasize our commitment to DEIJB and other signature programs in our curriculum that make us unique, thereby differentiating us from other area schools.
• Attract an applicant pool that reflects the multifaceted diversity found in the greater Los Angeles area.
• Design and host admissions events that utilize Los Encinos School’s nimbleness to try new, out-of-the-box ideas that allow prospective families to experience what LES has to offer.
Goal 4:
Prioritize outreach to former students, alumni, and alumni parents to reestablish and rekindle a sense of community with support and engagement.
• Build out/maintain our Alumni/Alumni Parent database.
• Explore fundraising opportunities with Alumni/Alumni Parents, their businesses, and/or their connections to foundations.
• Create an Alumni/Alumni Parent Newsletter to strengthen connections.
• Encourage and promote alumni networking, both professionally and socially.
