Leadership Through Service: 4th Grade

Fourth-grade students, who learned about landforms and California, visited Tree People in the fall. Inspired by the field trip, the students created items to sell at the annual “Shade Sale,” to raise money for Tree People and their commitment to build a greener, shadier and more water-secure environment.

In science, the 4th graders build on their learning of California land forms.

4th-graders learn that trees need people as much as people need trees!

A costume drive and candy drive were held during October to benefit those less fortunate at LA Family Housing. Beyond the donations, parent involvement was key as they helped collect and sort the items with the students.

The gently-used costume drive gives residents of LA Family Housing the ability to be included fully in their Halloween festivities.

Ask any student and they'll tell you it's better to give than receive!

We test every item to make sure the costumes are in good working order!


