PA Year in Review

by Missy Fox, PA President '24-'26

Missy Fox headshotAs I step down from a two-year term as the President of the Parent Association, I'm reminded of just how much the Los Encinos community is strengthened by the generosity of our families – not only through financial contributions, but through the countless gifts of time, talent, energy, and enthusiasm.

Throughout the year, parents have lent their support in so many ways. They have volunteered at events, organized celebrations, shared their professional expertise, helped with fundraising, welcomed new families, and found countless ways to make life at Los Encinos more meaningful for our community. Often, these contributions happen quietly, behind the scenes, but their impact is felt throughout the entire school.

The Parent Association is proud to be a bridge between our families and the school, and we are continually inspired by the willingness of parents to roll up their sleeves and help. Whether someone can give an hour, organize an event, share a special skill, or simply be present when help is needed, every contribution matters.

There is something uniquely powerful about children seeing their parents actively participate in their school community. It sends a simple but lasting message: This place matters, and so do you.

We are deeply grateful to every parent who has given their time and talents this year. Your generosity creates experiences, strengthens relationships, builds community, and helps make Los Encinos the special place it is. As Ilene likes to say, "You get out of it what you put in."

As I reflect back, the four areas of which I'm most proud:

N

increasing parent engagement

N

celebrating the faculty & staff

N

developing new parent leaders

N

leaving a legacy of connection

It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve the school in this way for the past two years. I want to wish Lindsay Powell and Kevin Kurtz all the best as they take over the helm of PA leadership as president and vice-president, respectively, in 2026-2027.
